Located in the Department of Public Works and Transportation - White Plains: Under general supervision, the incumbent is responsible for coordinating and evaluating multiple capital improvement projects through all stages of development including immediate and long-range planning. Incumbent allocates capital resources in accordance with departmental procedures and in keeping with long term planning strategies. The incumbent acts as a liaison between the Capital Planning and Facilities Management Program of the Department of Public Works and public officials, consultants, engineers and other County departments on major capital projects. Additionally, the incumbent assists in the procurement of professional services for capital improvement projects and in the development of the capital budget and capital budget presentations. Does related work as required.
Required
Either: (a) a Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Design, Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Planning or Engineering and five years of experience in the planning and design of recreation facilities or oversight and coordination of consultants and/or contractors working on complex public sector capital improvement projects; or (b) a Bachelor’s Degree and six years of experience as described in (a).
Substitutions
A five-year Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Architecture or Architecture may be substituted for one year of the required experience. Satisfactory completion of 30 credits towards a Master’s Degree in Engineering may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to two years of the above stated general experience. A Professional Engineer’s License may be substituted for four years of the required experience
Definition
Complex public sector capital improvement projects are defined as those which must have involved the coordination of two or more of the following trades: plumbing, electricity, carpentry, masonry, welding or HVAC.
Notes
(1) The number of years of experience required in the minimum qualifications is based upon the presumption of full-time employment. Part-time experience will be prorated based on a 35 hour workweek. (2) Verified and documented volunteer (unpaid) experience will only be credited when specifically allowed by the job description or examination announcement.
Special Notes
Education beyond the secondary level must have been awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education/U.S. Secretary of Education.

Salary: $97,100 - $128,240
