Under the general direction of the Administrator – Office of Assigned Counsel, the incumbent of this class assists with the effective management and operations of the Office of Assigned Counsel pursuant to Chapter 186 of the Laws of Westchester County. This position is appointed by the Administrator-Office of Assigned Counsel, in consultation with the Westchester County Assigned Counsel Board of Directors, pursuant to New York State Civil Service law and County hiring rules and regulations. Responsibilities include providing assistance and support in all facets of the efficient operations and management of the Office of Assigned Counsel. The Deputy Administrator shall act for and on behalf of the Administrator in his or her absence. Supervision is exercised over professional and clerical employees. Does related work as required.

- A Law Degree and a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in the practice of law involving criminal and/or family law matters.
- Special Requirements
- Admission to the Bar of the State of New York at least eight years prior to appointment.

- (1) The number of years of experience required in the minimum qualifications is based upon the presumption of full-time employment. Part-time experience will be prorated based on a 35 hour workweek. (2) Verified and documented volunteer (unpaid) experience will only be credited when specifically allowed by the job description or examination announcement.

- Education beyond the secondary level must have been awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education/U.S. Secretary of Education.
