Located in the Department of Solid Waste Commission - White Plains: Under general supervision, an incumbent of this position is responsible for implementing and administering the County’s Solid Waste and Recyclables Collection and Licensing Law. Duties include developing and maintaining detailed records and files of the Solid Waste Licensing Commission; creating and sharing materials at the direction of the Executive Director or Deputy Director to educate haulers and the public about the mission of the Commission and maintaining liaison with industry parties. Independent judgment is exercised within prescribed policies. Incumbents may supervise the work of a small clerical staff. Does related work as required.
Required
A Bachelor’s Degree and either (a) two years of experience where the primary function of the position was in consumer protection, inspection, licensing, private or governmental compliance, or code enforcement; or (b) three years of Law Enforcement experience in a governmental agency.
Substitutions
Satisfactory completion of a Master’s Degree in Public or Business Administration, or Environmental Science or a closely related field may be substituted for one year of experience.
Notes
(1) Experience obtained as an intern in public administration may be substituted on a year for year basis (2) The number of years of experience required in the minimum qualifications is based upon the presumption of full-time employment. Part-time experience will be prorated based on a 35 hour workweek. (3) Verified and documented volunteer (unpaid) experience will only be credited when specifically allowed by the job description or examination announcement.
Special Notes
Education beyond the secondary level must have been awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education/U.S. Secretary of Education.

Salary: $73,775 - $91,760
