Located in the Westchester Community College - Various Locations:
Under general supervision, an incumbent of this class performs professional personnel work, assists in developing plans, coordinating and monitoring operational activities. Responsibilities involve assisting in areas such recruitment and training, employee relations, civil service administration, employee records administration, and related areas in accordance with New York State Civil Service law and Westchester County rules and administrative procedures. Regular contacts with departmental administrative staff is maintained to ensure the accuracy and appropriateness of transmitted personnel data and generation of either routine or complex reports. This level differs from Personnel Staff Assistant in that the latter performs more routine and recurring work or assists with all duties performed by a higher level administrator. Supervision may be exercised over lower level professional and clerical support staff. Does related work as required

- Possession of a Bachelor's Degree and two year of Human Resources experience which included one or more of the following activities: wage and salary analysis, position analysis, training, recruitment, labor relations, reporting or job specification writing.
- Substitutions
- Satisfactory completion of a Master’s Degree in Human Resources, Human Resources Management or a closely related field may be substituted for the one year of the required experience.

- (1) The number of years of experience required in the minimum qualifications is based upon the presumption of full-time employment. Part-time experience will be prorated based on a 35 hour workweek. (2) Verified and documented volunteer (unpaid) experience will only be credited when specifically allowed by the job description or examination announcement.

- Education beyond the secondary level must have been awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education/U.S. Secretary of Education.
